The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) offers credentials that require both initial training and continuing education to earn and retain them. Two key programs, the Registered Credential Training Provider (RCTP) and the Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP), complement each other to support professionals with these training and continuing education needs.
The Registered Credential Training Provider program enables qualified trainers to develop curriculum tailored to meet the requirements of various CCE credentials, including clinical supervision, coaching, telemental health, and career counseling. Professionals seeking CCE credentials must successfully complete these training programs before applying. RCTPs have expertise in their specific fields and develop high-quality training programs to ensure that individuals gain the knowledge and skills to earn CCE credentials and apply best practices in their work. Additionally, RCTP trained credential seeking applicants receive a streamlined application review as a result of completing an RCTP approved program.
To maintain their credentials, professionals are required to complete continuing education that keeps them current in their professional field. ACEPs play a critical role in delivering this quality continuing education.
Dr. Rhonda Johnson, owner of the Center for Counselor and Family Relations (CCFAM), exemplifies the integration of both programs as an RCTP and ACEP.
“Part of our mission statement for the practice is shared knowledge, and our staff has made it a priority to seek out training and share resources,” says Dr. Johnson.
After years as an ACEP, Dr. Johnson expanded her offerings in 2024 by becoming an RCTP for CCE’s 45-hour Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential.
“It has been an awesome experience to have professionals fly in from all over the country, participate virtually, or complete training through our on-demand platform,” says Dr. Johnson. “Our mission is to make a lasting impact equipping professionals by offering diverse resources. We are proud and grateful to be a provider (RCTP), which ensures that we are able to impact the lives of a wide audience of professionals, their clients or supervisees, and the mental health community as a whole.”
